Network Integration Project
SECTOR: Transport
AREA: Central Africa
AMOUNT: UA 53.3 million
Where the waters of the Logone River quietly separate
Yagoua in northern Cameroon from Bongor in
southwestern Chad, a new story is being written - one of
connection, resilience, and shared prosperity. The Lake
Chad Basin Regional Road Network Integration Project

Envelope - is bringing this story to life. At the heart of
this regional infrastructure transformation stands the
620-meter cross-border bridge, linking not just two
towns, but two nations and their people.

More than a feat of engineering, the project is a
keystone in the African Development Bank’s vision for
regional integration and inclusive development in the
fragile Lake Chad Basin. The dual-carriageway bridge,
featuring 1.5-meter sidewalks and supported by
upgraded access roads, is being built alongside
essential social infrastructure: border posts, signage,
health centers, schools, drinking-water boreholes, and
economic assets like animal loading ramps and
irrigation facilities. These enhancements are designed
to make the bridge not just a structure, but a community
catalyst.
